ALEX DUNCAN (Carlton) – the tall centre half-back was recorded as taking 33 marks on Saturday June 25 1927 (it was dubbed “Duncan’s Match”), helping the Blues toward their first win for six years over the Magpies at Victoria Park, in one his 141 games played between 1921 and 1930. Collingwood officials presented him with the match ball.

GORDON STRANG (Richmond) playing at centre half-back against South Melbourne in 1935 was reported to have taken 28 marks.

WALLY BUTTSWORTH (Essendon) 28 marks in the 1947 Grand Final versus Carlton.

JACK MUELLER (Melbourne) recorded as taking 14 marks in the last quarter of the Demons 1936 meeting with Carlton.

HAROLD BALL (Melbourne) reported in the last quarter as taking 15 marks when switched to full-back in the 1940 preliminary versus Essendon.

RON CLEGG (South Melbourne) took 32 marks against Fitzroy at Brunswick Street in 1951.
