Sydney's accuracy in 2003 during will go down as one of the best of all time. 

During the Home and Away season 59.04% of their scores were goals. This has only been bettered by their own performance in 1998 (59.69%) and the Bulldogs' accuracy three years ago (59.22%). 

Over the entire season Sydney's accuracy of 58.83% in front of goal exceeded their 58.80% accuracy in 1998 but falls short of North Melbourne's 58.88% accuracy in 1993.

Five Brownlow medallists in 2003 grand final

AFL football was provided with the most star-studded number of personalities when five Brownlow winners played in the 2003 grand Final.

The Brisbane Lions provided three – captain Michael Voss, the 1996 winner, together with teammates Jason Akermanis (2001) and Simon Black (2002), while the Collingwood team were skippered by the 2003 winner Nathan Buckley who played alongside Shane Woewodin, winner of the 2000 honour when he was a player for the Melbourne FC.

On six occasions a VFL-AFL Grand Final has had three medallists in the playoff, but never five.

Since the inception of the Brownlow Medal in 1924, these are the medallists who have played in a VFL-AFL Grand Final —
