This is the best ever combination of unbeaten–huge percentage. West Coast Eagles in 1991 were 7-0 with a percentage of 206.0.
There have been clubs with higher percentages after seven matches – St Kilda’s effort is the best since Essendon 211.1 in 1911. The ‘Same Olds’ were 6-0-1.
The benchmark is Fitzroy with a percentage of 231.4 in 1900. The Maroons were 6-1 at the time.
Michael Rogers notes St Kilda has so far this year set new highest winning margins against 3 opponents – Fremantle R4, Port Adelaide R5 and Collingwood R7.

Arguably, North’s 20.5 v PA on Saturday night at Docklands was its equal eighth best in its history, calculated on a percentage basis (best is 8.1 v Melb in 1940). If one prefers to use the “gap” principle, ie 15 difference, its score was equal 10th most accurate (best is 27.8 v Rich in 2000).

On Saturday afternoon at the Cattery the Swans booted 3.1 in each of the second, third and final terms. Remarkably, there are two other instances of a side kicking 3.1 in three quarters. They are NM against Mel in Rd 21, 1972, and Ess against StK in Rd 13, 1935. Mind you, nothing can compare with Collingwood’s “perfect” score in Rd 8, 1934:

Col — 3.3,  6.6,  9.9,  12.12
StK — 1.2,  4.7,  8.10,  10.15
